A SIMPLE, UNIVERSAL, AND EFFECTIVE Shampoo
An all-purpose shampoo bar
Our argan oil and rhassoul shampoo bar is natural. It provides a deeply nourishing and restorative wash.
With a pH of 6, it is a gentle and eco-friendly shampoo, made to hydrate, repair, nourish, and strengthen your hair.
This shampoo is multipurpose and can be used for all types of hair and by the whole family.
This shampoo is suitable for fine, medium, or thick hair, and no matter what type:
Thanks to its special formula that regulates sebum, your hair will get greasy far less quickly than with a typical industriel shampoo.
Our shampoo is far more cost-effective than mass-produced liquid shampoos, with 70 g of shampoo lasting an average of 3-4 months (depending on usage and frequency).
Our natural shampoo formula
Our shampoo bar is made in our workshop in Marseille. It is handmade using a recipe that has only 4 ingredients. We work with raw materials that have been carefully selected for their properties and virtues.
These raw materials protect your health, your hair's and the planet's.
Following extensive testing, feedback from test-users, and a great amount of research, we found a truly exceptional surfactant to serve as one of the main ingredients in our shampoo bar.
- SLMI: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (the cleansing base) is a very mild surfactant derived from coconut. Non-irritating and 100% biodegradable, making up around 50% of the shampoo. Origin: United States
- Rhassoul: a natural mineral clay often used by North African women for its absorbent, regenerative, and cleansing properties. Origin: Morocco, COSMOS certified
- Organic Argan Oil: comes from the fruit of the Moroccan argan tree. It hydrates, repairs, and forms a protective film on your hair. Origin: Morocco, COSMOS certified
- Candelilla Wax: it repairs and protects your hair. Extracted from Euphorbiaceae shrubs, it is a good alternative to beewax (we like to leave the bees in peace). Origin: Mexico
These 4 raw materials are combined in specific quantities to make our shampoo bar a natural, gentle, and effective cleanser.
INCI ingredients: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (SLMI), Moroccan Lava Clay (Rhassoul), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (Argan Oil), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax
SLMI: A gentle surfactant
Our shampoo bar is based on a truly exceptional surfactant: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (SLMI), a mild, non-irritating, biodegradable, and plant-based ingredient.
Derived from coconuts, this "low-poo" surfactant is considered as one of the safest on the cosmetics market, offering numerous benefits. In addition to being non-irritating, it does not contain any nanoparticles that penetrate the skin. It is also free of dioxane, nitrosamines, and sulphates.
We were careful to ensure that it makes up less than 50% of the shampoo bar (unlike many natural solid shampoos that are made up of more than 50% surfactants).
Rhassoul - a natural cleanser
Rhassoul was chosen for its rich composition: silicon, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, trace elements, and provitamins.
Rhassoul (also known as Ghassoul or Rassoul) is a type of clay mined from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
Moroccan women have been using this clay for centuries to wash their hair. Its absorbent properties make it a gentle and natural cleanser.
Rhassoul does not damage the hair's hydrolipidic film, unlike suffocating chemicals such as artificial silicone.
If you have damaged hair, rhassoul powder can also help restore it. It is used to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by stimulating the roots of your hair. The clay also slows down the appearance of white hairs and has natural anti-dandruff properties.
Moisturise with Argan oil
Argan oil has been used since the dawn of time to moisturise and repair hair. Its composition is particularly eye-catching since it's very rich in unsaturated fatty acids, containing 8% of vitamin E.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which is found in very few natural oils.
It also contains schottenol, a skin regulator that revitalises cells and counteracts hair loss.
Argan oil is gentle enough for the whole family. Its comprehensive action repairs and nourishes hair fibres, and offers natural soothing, antioxidant, and detangling properties (very convenient for long hair).
How to use our shampoo bar ?
To wash your hair, simply rub our shampoo bar on wet hair to form a fine foam. Be careful not to use too much or it will take a long time to rinse off. Massage your hair and rinse it just like a liquid shampoo.
On short hair: Wet your hair, rub the shampoo bar onto the roots and massage until it forms a fine foam. Rinse thoroughly.
On long hair: Wet your hair thoroughly, then rub the shampoo bar from the scalp to the tips to coat your hair. Massage the scalp under the hair until it forms a fine foam and then work down to the tips of your hair. Let the shampoo work its magic for a few seconds then rinse thoroughly! If necessary, you can repeat this once more.
Instead of using a mass-produced conditioner, rinse your hair with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar (1 vinegar measure for 10 of water) for enhanced softness and shine.
If you used industriel shampoo, it will take a few washes before getting your hair used to this new shampoo free from silicone and sulfate.
Don't give up after the first wash! Once all the chemicals found in mass-produced shampoos have been washed away, your hair will be healthier, brighter, and stronger.
If your hair is used to silicones and sulfates, you might feel that your hair is either dry or greasy after your first washes. If you want to accelerate the process, you can use bicarbonate or green clay. This will get rid quicker of the silicone accumulated during all these years and will help you switch to natural shampoo easier.
You can store it in our soap dish on the edge of your bath or next to our soap in the shower.
An eco-friendly shampoo bar
Using our solid shampoo bar is a great way to considerabely reduce your waste.
The shampoo bar is shipped with just its label (made from recyclable paper and food glue) and kraft packaging to protect it during transport.
This means no more plastic bottles, of which only about 25% are recycled, the other 75% being either partially incinerated (if your council has an incinerator) or placed in landfills (in most cases).
By choosing this alternative you can significantly cut back on plastic and be sure that our shampoo is safe for you.
This natural shampoo is also biodegradable. You can use it outside when washing in the wilderness for example. However, we recommend being at least twenty meters away from streams in order to leave the soil, rocks, or sands have a filtering action. This will allow you to have a minimum impact on fauna and flora.
What they don't tell you about mass-produced shampoo
Mass-produced masks, conditioners, and shampoos nearly all contain silicones.
This ingredient makes your hair feel soft, silky, and bright, but it's just an illusion.
Silicone forms a synthetic layer around the hair and suffocates it. In the long run, your hair becomes more fragile, dry, and brittle.
Silicone is very cheap and provides instant visual results, but it is just a facade.
If you are used to shampoos with silicone, it can be challenging to swap industrial shampoos for shampoo bars.
This transition to a natural shampoo can be daunting at first, as your hair may appear less soft and shiny. But this is only temporary and, with consistent use, your hair will become healthier and even nicer.
The transition period lasts around 2-3 weeks during which your hair is eliminating the chemical residues left by previous shampoos.
To speed up the process and get rid of the silicone even faster, add a little baking soda to your shampoo during the first wash.
