A COST-EFFECTIVE SHAMPOO BAR
An all-purpose shampoo bar
Our argan oil and rhassoul shampoo bar is 100% natural. It provides a deeply nourishing and restorative wash.
With a pH of 6, it is a gentle and eco-friendly shampoo. Made to hydrate, repair and nourish hair fibers whilst also providing strength and shine to your hair due to the soothing and antioxidant properties of argan oil and rhassoul.
The shampoo can be used on every type of hair and is suitable for the whole family: men, women and children. It does not contain essential oils, so it can be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children of every age.
This shampoo is suitable for fine, medium or thick hair, no matter what type:
Thanks to its special formula, your hair will get greasy far less quickly than with a typical mass-produced shampoo.
Our shampoo is far more cost effective than mass-produced liquid shampoo, with 70 g of shampoo lasting an average of 4 months (depending on usage and frequency).
What goes into our natural shampoo bar ?
Our solid shampoo bar is made in our workshops in the 2nd arrondissement of Marseille. It is handmade. The recipe has only 4 natural GMO-free ingredients. in it We work with raw materials that have been carefully selected for their beneficial properties : protecting your health, your hair and the planet.
Following extensive testing, feedback from test users, and a great amount of research, we found a truly exceptional surfactant to serve as one of the main ingredients in our shampoo bar.
- SLMI: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (the cleansing base) is a very mild surfactant derived from coconut. Non-irritating and 100% biodegradable, making up around 35% of the shampoo. Origin: United States
- Rhassoul: a natural mineral clay often used by North African women for its absorbent, regenerative and cleansing properties. Origin: Morocco, COSMOS certified
- Organic Argan Oil: comes from the fruit of the Moroccan argan tree, it hydrates, repairs and forms a protective film on your hair. Origin: Morocco, COSMOS certified
- Candelilla Wax: to repair and protect your hair. Extracted from Euphorbiaceae shrubs, it is a good alternative to beeswax (we like to leave the bees in peace). Origin: Mexico
All our ingredients are of natural origins, organic and/or COSMOS certified.
These 4 raw materials are combined in specific quantities to make our solid shampoo a natural, gentle and effective cleanser, for strong and shiny hair.
INCI ingredients: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (SLMI), Moroccan Lava Clay (Rhassoul), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (Argan Oil), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax
SLMI: A gentle surfactant
Our solid shampoo is based on a truly exceptional surfactant: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (SLMI), a mild, non-irritating, 100% biodegradable and 100% plant-based ingredient.
Derived from coconuts, this "low-poo" surfactant is considered one of the safest on the cosmetics market, offering numerous benefits. In addition to being non-irritating, it does not contain any nanoparticles that penetrate the skin. It is also free from dioxane, nitrosamines and sulphates.
We were careful to ensure that it makes up just 35% of the solid shampoo (unlike many natural solid shampoos that are made up of more than 50% surfactants).
Rhassoul: a natural cleanser
Rhassoul was chosen for its rich composition: naturally occurring silicon, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, trace elements and provitamins.
Rhassoul (or Ghassoul) is a clay mined from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
Moroccan women have been using this clay to wash their hair for centuries. Its absorbent properties make it a gentle natural cleanser.
Rhassoul does not damage the hair's hydrolipidic film, unlike suffocating chemicals such as artificial silicone.
If you have damaged hair, rhassoul powder can also help restore it. It is used to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by stimulating the roots of your hair. The clay also slows the appearance of white hairs and has natural anti-dandruff properties.
Argan oil for hydration
Argan oil has been used since the dawn of time to moisturise and repair hair. Its composition is particularly eye-catching since it's very rich in unsaturated fatty acids, containing 8% of vitamin E.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and is found in very few natural oils.
It also contains schottenol, a skin regulator that revitalises cells and counteracts hair loss.
Argan oil is gentle enough for the whole family. Its comprehensive action repairs and nourishes hair fibres and offers natural soothing, antioxidant and detangling properties (very convenient for long hair).
How to use the shampoo bar ?
To wash your hair, simply rub our shampoo bar on wet hair to form a creamy foam. Be careful not to use too much or it will take a long time to rinse off. Massage your hair and rinse it out just like a liquid shampoo.
On short hair: Wet your hair, rub the shampoo bar onto the roots and massage until it forms a fine foam. Rinse thoroughly.
On long hair: Wet your hair thoroughly, then rub the shampoo bar from the scalp to the tips to coat your hair. Massage the scalp under the hair until it forms a fine foam and then work down to the tips of your hair . Let the shampoo work it's magic for a few seconds then rinse thoroughly!
Instead of using a mass-produced conditioner, rinse your hair with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water) for enhanced softness and shine.
If you normally use mass-produced shampoo, it may take several uses before your hair gets used to this new organic and natural shampoo.
Don't give up after the first wash. Once all the chemicals found in mass-produced shampoos have been washed away, your hair will be healthier, brighter and stronger. If you want the switch from industrial shampoo to go a bit quicker, you can use bicarbonate or green clay. You can find many recipes on internet for these two products.
You can store it in our soap dish on the edge of your bath or next to our soap in the shower.
A shampoo bar that respects the planet
Using our solid shampoo bar is a great way to reduce waste.
The shampoo bar is shipped with just its label (made from recyclable paper and food glue) and kraft packaging to protect it during transportation.
That means no more plastic bottles, of which only about 25% are recycled, the other 75% being either partially incinerated (if the council has an incinerator) or deposited in landfills (in the majority of cases).
By choosing this alternative you can significantly cut back on plastics, since 70 g of solid shampoo is equivalent to 3 bottles of liquid shampoo.
Our zero-waste solid shampoo bar has a low impact on the environment and is good for you, made using just a few powerful organic ingredients.
This natural shampoo is also biodegradable. You can take it with you on a trip to the mountains, for example, and not create any pollution. It's even suitable to use in a river!
What they don't tell you about mass-produced shampoo
Mass-produced masks, conditioners and shampoos are nearly all packed full of silicone. They may make your hair look soft, silky and bright, but it's just an illusion. The silicone forms a synthetic layer around the hair and suffocates it. In the long run, your hair becomes more fragile, dry and brittle.
It can be hard to swap industrial shampoos for shampoo bars, as there will probably be a challenging transition period during which you will be tempted to go back to your usual bottles.
At first your hair may appear less soft and shiny because it is being cleansed of all the chemicals that have kept it looking beautiful and shiny. But this is only temporary and, with consistent use, your hair will become healthier and looking it's best!
The transition period lasts around 2-3 weeks while your hair is eliminating the chemical residue left by previous shampoos.
Silicone is very cheap and provides instant visual results, but it is just a facade. Get it out of your hair and out of your life. Choose only the best for you and your family by going back to nature!
To speed up the process and get rid of the silicone even faster, add a little baking soda to your shampoo during the first wash. Alternatively, you can mix montmorillonite clay, cider vinegar and water and apply to wet hair for 30 minutes.
