A TOOTHBRUSH WITH SOFT BRISTLES RECOMMENDED BY DENTISTS
We met Nassim by sheer coincidence over the water and our discussions about ecology and respect for nature. This was a real coup de coeur for his Smiloh project. The same philosophy as we, the same observation of a growing need for respectful consumption and a synergy with our planet.
Smiloh x Back to Basics
We trusted each other by bringing our two projects together and this pretty toothbrush was born.
This bamboo toothbrush, completely biodegradable and compostable, is manufactured by Nassim in France at Valenciennes (59) in the north.
Bamboo (not found in France) is imported from Asia and specifically from India. It is a natural bamboo grown on plots separated and isolated from the local natural space and which does not participate in deforestation.
Nassim cultivates a moso bamboo not consumable by pandas and other animals. This bamboo grows without fertilizers or pesticides because it is naturally swift and inhibits the growth of micro-organisms like viruses.
A biodegradable and vegan toothbrush
The bristles of the toothbrush are Class 4 Nylon, Pleasant and natural contact in the mouth. They do not contain bisphenol A, which is known to be harmful to health.
This is the best current alternative to animal hair.
The hairs are then infused into Natural charcoal. The charcoal allows to break the plaque and eliminate the toxins without harming the teeth or the gums. It also allows the elimination of bad breath by absorbing the bacteria and finally helps to whiten naturally the teeth.
The latter are attached to the handle of the toothbrush without chemical glues by small metal fasteners without danger to our health.
A healthy alternative, a voluntary action
This toothbrush has a lifetime identical to that of a classic plastic brush. As we advise all dentists, it is recommended to replace our toothbrush every 3 months, or when the hairs are worn.
Packaged in a small cardboard box (also biodegradable and compostable), you have an alternative in your hands to avoid throwing millions of plastic toothbrushes every year in France.
We also take the opportunity to tell you (even if it is not the product itself) that for each toothbrush purchased, a toothbrush is offered to French or local NGOs from Africa and Peru. An initiative that we cared about.
