A traditional and efficient toothpaste
Our organic-certified toothpaste comes from an ancient recipe, since it’s mainly made out of Miswak.
Miswak comes from a tree called Salvadora Persica, used as a toothbrush for millennia. This tree grows in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and India.
Miswak has excellent properties for oral and dental hygiene. It cleanses the mouth, prevents cavities, strengthens the gum, prevents dental plaque, and whitens teeth. It also helps eliminate bad breath.
Our toothpaste is a powder that prevents plaque, ulcers, and gum disease. The powder manages to clean every part of your mouth making it extra-efficient whilst also protecting your enamel and gums. But don't forget to floss. Using our toothpaste allows you to improve you dental hygiene and in time might even forgo mouthwashes that contain high levels of fluoride and other toxic chemicals.
Our toothpaste is suitable for :
- sensitive teeth
- bleeding gums
- tooth implants
And the unscented version for:
- adults and children
- pregnant or breastfeeding women
Our organic toothpaste can be used with a normal toothbrush (like our bamboo toothbrush) or with electric toothbrushes.
Our toothpaste composition
Our toothpaste is made in our workshop in the heart of Marseille. Handmade and produced using traditional methods based on an ancestral recipe that only uses four ingredients.
- White clay : a mild abrasive, cleans without damaging enamel, and sanitises the mouth. Origin: France, Ecocert certified.
- Miswak powder : Cultivated in an ecological way, Miswak powder protects the gums, keeps bad breath under control, and helps remove plaque. Origin: India, organic certified.
- Calcium carbonate : a very mild abrasive that stimulates the gum through daily use and remineralises the teeth. Origin: Germany, Cosmos certified.
FOR THE MENTHOLATED VERSION:
- Mint crystals : Used in small quantities, they freshen and eliminate bad breath. Obtained by a cool crystallisation of mint essential oil. Origin: India, organic certified.
Our toothpaste has no taste, gives you fresh breath, and clean teeth thanks to the menthol. Some have even noticed their teeth whitening thanks to the Miswak's scaling properties.
It doesn't contain any sodium fluoride or any other controversial ingredient.
What they don’t tell you about industrial toothpastes
The use of fluoride in toothpastes is very controversial. We now know that it can be considered as a neurotoxin that can have many bad side-effects on our body (depression, anxiety, bulimia/anorexia, sterility, insomnia, a weak immune system, etc.).
For health reasons, we decided to ban it from our toothpaste and replace it with natural ingredients that clean your mouth as well as protect your teeth.
Many toothpastes, in supermarkets or homemade ones, contain baking soda. You need to be careful with this ingredient as it is very abrasive. That's why we've chosen calcium carbonate for our toothpaste, as it is a lot milder.
How to use our toothpaste?
It's really simple ! Just wet your toothbrush and dip its bristles in the powder (don't put too much on) or sprinkle your toothbrush with the powder if you use a family pot.
Put a bit of water in your mouth (about 1 tsp) and brush your teeth as usual. Then rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.
Our organic toothpaste gives your teeth a deep clean, leaving them fresh and white. Your mouth is thoroughly cleaned too. You’ll have extra fresh breath that will last much longer than industrially-produced toothpaste.
Caution : the menthol version is not suitable for pregnant/breastfeeding women and children under 7 because of the mint crystals, considered an essential oil. There is a fragrance-free version for pregnant/breastfeeding women, children, and people under homeopathic treatments.
For both versions of the toothpaste (menthol and unscented), do not swallow it, your child needs to be old enough to spit the toothpaste out (unscented version up to 7 years).
We don't hide the fact that it can be a little disorienting the first few times you use it, because it is unlike any standard or industrially-produced toothpastes. It doesn't foam, but we can assure you that you'll get used to it very quickly.
A refillable container
To store our powder toothpaste, we have chosen recyclable PP plastic pots. This type of container avoids the transfer of plastic matter in the product (unlike PET plastic).
Our toothpaste is refillable. If you already have a pot (ours or an old jam jar), you just need to fill it up by only buying the refill. All our refills are in entirely compostable kraft paper bags.
