FROM THE BIRTH OF OUR BABY TO A DREAM COME TRUE.
Here is our little family: Nil (dad), Sophie (mom), and Nael (our baby). When Sophie became pregnant with Nael, we spent a lot of time looking for ways to improve our diet and reduce the use of substances that could disturb the hormonal balance of our environment, both for our own wellbeing and the one of our future child.
At the birth of Nael, we quickly tried to find the best solutions to wash him without attacking its fragile skin. The organic washing creams we used at the beginning seemed healthy but very quickly irritations appeared on his hands, legs and feet. So we wanted to use more more natural solutions like Marseille soap or Aleppo soap. Having trouble finding real soaps, reliable and without doubtful components, the idea of manufacturing our own soap started to appear. It was an eye-opener, what would be better that making our own soap to be sure of what it contains and what we apply on our skin each day.
After a few weeks of research and trails, we found a simple formula, based solely on olive oil, which immediately convinced us - and quickly won over our friends and family. Our natural soap reduced Nael's rashes and we stopped applying any additional moisturizing creams, as his skin was perfectly soft and hydrated by using our soap.
Our friends and family encouraged us to share our findings with all those who whish to turn to healthy and simple products. That's when we created our online shop "Back to Basics" ("Comme Avant" in French) with a handmade natural soap whose components are healthy for all skin types. We hope that you enjoy our natural soap made 100% of olive oil as much as we do!
One thing leading to another, we started to manufacture products that marked us by their composition or effect like our toothpaste with Siwak or our deodorant powdered with Iris. A simple philosophy was born "recreate the yesterday's products, those that were simple and effective" and with it the shop "Back To Basics".
Today, we work as a team of four to make and deliver our soaps.Marie, Silvin, Sophie, and Nil. A fantastic story that is still being written...
